Lazy load images
Images usually contribute 90% of a website's size. Preventing loading on unwanted images, that are not required for initial render can greatly improve performance.
By enabling lazy loading, images will be loaded only on demand when they're nearby the viewport.
Exclude images from lazy load
Lazy loading images can greatly reduce the page size. However, lazy loading images in the above fold can delay the loading of the images, which increases the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). It's better to exclude images in the viewport to improve LCP and overall user experience.
Let's take a sample image:
<img src="https://example.com/wp-uploads/cat.png" />
To exclude the above image, you can add "cat.png".
Exclude above fold images count
You can configure the number of images that should be excluded from lazy loading from the order in HTML.
